Monday, May 27th, began my second to last week. I can’t believe how fast time has FLOWN by. Seems like just yesterday I arrived in Tordesillas! On Monday, I caught up on some lesson planning for the week, made some games for pronunciation and vocabulary, and enjoyed a relaxing night after the busy week with my parents. Tuesday, I had all of my private lessons and then met up with Teresa and Andrea at Los Toreros, a nearby restaurant, for some beers and catching up.
Wednesday, Tonisha and I met up in Valladolid for tapas! It was so nice to see her and hang out. Since the weather was perfect, we stayed for a while in Campo Grande (the park) at the bar near the fountain. We hit our favorite spots – the bar in Campo Grande, Cafeteria La Baroque in Plaza Mayor, and La Tasquita (has amazing tapas). I had to haul it back to the bus station to catch the last bus of the evening, but it was such a relaxing and peaceful trip!
On Thursday, I went to Centro Cultural Miguel Delibes, the arts theater, in Valladolid because some of my fifth and sixth grade students had a play! I thought it was just going to be them, but boy was I wrong. There were several other schools at the theater and 500 kids in the chorus! All of the schools individually taught their students the routine and they only practiced all together the day of the event for an hour. It was incredible!!! They were all in synch, which was so cool, and even though I hardly understood what it was about – they had two professional girls who “told the story” and I could barely comprehend it – it was such a fun show! Juanjo was even participating! Afterwards, we grabbed pizza for dinner at Telepizza, Spain’s take on like Pizza Hut but it was actually good.
I had the day free on Friday, so I went to Rio Shopping, the mall by Valladolid, and shopped a bit, before heading to Valladolid for some more shopping. The weather was perfect again and I had a lovely morning/afternoon enjoying Valladolid by myself! I headed back to Tordesillas for lunch and went for tapas with Juanjo and Rosa in the afternoon. We had a really nice evening and it was a great last Friday in Tordesillas!
This was a short post because I’m posting the weekend separately 🙂
